Helicopter flights over hospital ship Global Mercy during departure from Antwerp port
On Friday 25 February between 2 pm and 6 pm, the Global Mercy is scheduled to depart. The brand new hospital ship of the NGO Mercy Ships was finished in the port of Antwerp and will now sail on to Rotterdam.
Many Belgian companies and hundreds of volunteers lent their support to the finishing and furnishing of the ship. Both the arrival in the port and the departure are events that receive worldwide attention. On 18 February, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde paid a working visit to the ship.
In collaboration with Mercy Ships, the Lint-based company helicopterflights.be organises flights over the port of Antwerp and the quay of the Global Mercy. Experience the departure of this unique ship from the air and support the good cause: that's the idea.
For EUR 105 per person, you can book a seat in a twin-engine VIP helicopter for a 20-minute flight. It is also possible to book the entire helicopter, per 5 persons. Departure and arrival are at the airport in Hoevenen / Stabroek, only a few kilometres from the quay where the Global Mercy is moored.
Companies or event offices can request special formulas or tailor-made packages, even picking up passengers at their own company premises is a possibility. Each passenger also receives a copy of the Suske & Wiske album De Drijvende Dokters. A comic strip that was specially written for Mercy Ships by Standaard Uitgeverij.
The entire proceeds of the flights are donated to the work of Mercy Ships.
Mercy Ships deploys ships worldwide to provide medical care and education in countries where there are no facilities or opportunities.
